Zen-COREWORK

Are you tired of running from your past?

Are you seeking meaning, direction, and a deeper sense of purpose?

Do you long to come home to yourself, yet find yourself caught in the same patterns again and again?

If you are overwhelmed, in pain, feeling lost, or longing to return home, it may be time to turn toward what has been shaping your life

Zen-CoreWork offers a way to see yourself as you are, to recognize your patterns shaping your life and to meet them consciously instead of being driven by them. When you stop and allow yourself to feel, a space is created. What is true begins to reveal itself, and from that, a liberating clarity and deeper sense of meaning can emerge.

Zen-CoreWork offers zen inner work sessions, a direct, human-to-human approach to working with
what is here, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually

Human to Human
CoreWork is a space to slow down, listen to what is true beneath the stress of everyday life. This is not analysis. It is a real, human meeting.
You may come with confusion, pain, longing, or simply a sense that something in your life wants to be seen, embraced or transformed.
We begin where you are.

Through inquiry, the Big Mind process, and Core Contraction work, we explore your experience, moment by moment – how suffering forms, how it is maintained, and how it begins to ease when what is alive is allowed.

This work is for those who want to understand themselves and live in deeper intimacy with life.
My approach is simple and non-judgmental. A space where you can explore your experience, without needing to fix or become anything else.

I offer this work in two ways: through my independent practice (CoreWork by the Sea LLC) and through established Zen teaching containers such as Kanzeon.

From the Oregon Coast, I offer in-person and online 1:1 sessions, as well as small group work and structured programs.

At the bottom of this page, you’ll find the different ways we can work together, whether through individual sessions, structured programs, or longer, more immersive journeys.

Private sessions and independent programs are offered through CoreWork by the Sea LLC.

What informs my work?

Zen-CoreWork is a synthesis of my Zen practice and my psychological background, shaped through many years of training and direct experience.

Psychosynthesis was developed by the Italian psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli. Partly inspired by Freud’s psychoanalysis and Jungian depth psychology, it is today considered to belong to the field of transpersonal psychology. The Psychosynthesis approach affirms the reality of spiritual experience as an integral part of the human experience. It acknowledges our individual uniqueness and our connection to the whole. Where suffering can be caused by a loss of contact with who we really are, the psychosynthesis approach seeks to restore and renew this contact.

Contemplative Psychology is a branch of therapy that integrates Buddhist philosophy and practice with the clinical traditions of modern psychology. It is rooted in the belief that all human beings are born with the innate wisdom that can heal our psychological pain. Developing trust in this innate wisdom is part of the therapy and path to building a life worth living.

Somatic Experiencing (SE), is a therapeutic method that can reduce and resolve stress reactions from shock and trauma. The method is primarily directed to focusing attention on body sensations, whereby the body’s inherent and healing resources are activated so that balance is re-established in the nervous system and stress reactions are resolved.

The BigMind method is a spiritual and psychological process developed by Zen Master Genpo Roshi that uses a Voice dialogue technique to help people recognize and integrate various parts of their personality, moving beyond limited self-concept to a larger, more expansive awareness and awakening.

Disclaimer: I am not a licensed mental-health provider in Oregon. My offerings are spiritual education, meditation guidance, and coaching. They are not psychotherapy, do not diagnose or treat mental disorders, and are not a substitute for medical or psychological care. If you need clinical support, I will gladly refer you to a licensed professional.

Working in Groups

Some aspects of this work are explored more fully in a group setting, where we begin to see our patterns in relationship with others.

Workshops

The Five Poisons Workshop

Working with greed, anger, ignorance, pride, and jealousy as patterns of reactivity in our lives. These are not problems to fix, but expressions of how we protect what feels vulnerable. Through direct inquiry and shared practice, we begin to see how these patterns move through us, and what they are holding. As they are seen more clearly, something shifts. What once felt fixed begins to open.

Deep Sangha Work

A space to practice together in honesty and directness.
Here, what is usually kept private begins to be spoken and seen.

Through meditation, dialogue, and shared inquiry, we explore how we meet ourselves and each other. Patterns become visible in real time, in relationship, in speech, in silence.

This is not about fixing or improving, but about seeing clearly together.
