An Invitation into the Silence
September, 2025
It can feel challenging to meet ourselves through the eyes of silence.
At first, it may seem unfamiliar, yet, in time, silence becomes our refuge, our nourishment.
In the spaciousness of silence, we discover that we are space itself – open, vast, and tender.
Here, whatever arises can be held with gentleness, allowing old stories and sharp edges to soften and melt away.
In this softening, we feel welcomed, blessed, and dissolved into the beauty of pure being.
When we share silence together, something extraordinary happens.
The silence deepens – compassion expands.
In witnessing one another, as emotions surface and transform, we touch the essence of true spiritual community.
This simple yet profound practice is often overlooked, yet it reminds us of our roots, of what it means to be human, to embody our natural, basic goodness.
Here on the Oregon coast, nature teaches us to pull back, to listen, to be.
But solitude can sometimes drift into loneliness.
I find it’s an art to balance the fine line between feeling lonely and just being alone in the silence.
Being together with others, allowing oneself to dissolve into the stillness of our own being – is a gift.
However, being alone, we discover our true being is the stillness itself.
In this space there is nothing extra.
It’s just you – the stillness.
It’s the perfect mirror.
So I invite you, those who feel called, to explore silence together.
To rest in the quiet, to rediscover the strength of community, and to remember who we truly are.
